Please Wear Your Seat Belt

Dear Everyone,

I'd like to take a minute to remind you that seat belts save lives. Though you may be tired of hearing it, or maybe you don't care, it's important to others that you do. In high school, my best friend's best friend died in a car wreck because she didn't have her seat belt on. I found out today another good friend of ours died this week, also because of a lack of seat belt wearing.

Aside from the fact that wearing your seat belt is now law in most states, wearing them is better than not, safety speaking. And if that isn't a good enough reason for you, think about people like me and Kel, who will spend the rest of our lives without you.

Sincerely,
Sleep Goblin

Truer words were never spoken. Sorry for the loss of your friends. Wearing a seatbelt is so natural to me, it feels weird if I don't have one on.

We had a very sad accident up here about a year ago. Two families in one SUV, 8 people, 5 of them kids, all died. None of them were wearing seatbelts. It devasted an entire community.

I'm ALL for wearing seatbelts and insist anyone driving with me wear theirs. However, last year my daughter's 16 yr old best friend was killed in a car accident and she was wearing hers....That was hard to swallow. It can happen either way......BUT.....be safe...buckle up! I'm really sorry about your friend. :(

I would have thought that seatbelts were a federal law in the states! Shocked tohear that it may not be! We've had seatbelts as law in Canada since the 70's I believe.

I'm sad for you and your losses; I always wear mine. Now if I can just convince my dad; he's the one who insisted on mine throughout my childhood; I feel all loose & unsafe without it!!!

You know, I have to say:

For a long, long time, I didn't wear my seatbelt. Something about "it's not the government's job to tell me what to do in my car" yada yada.

But then, I got a motorcycle, and there is no restraint there (which is a good thing on a bike). But I saw what it was to be truly vulnerable to other vehicles...and started to value that seatbelt.

I'm probably one of the most cautious drivers out there. Once you get on a motorcycle, and see what people do because they don't pay attention, there is a sanctity in that seatbelt.

I lost a friend in high school for the same reason. I have a feeling he is much happier now that I ride with a seatbelt!

sorry about your friend sweetie

Kimberlina!

Motorcycles are not death rockets! People who ride without helmets are idiots.

But motorcyclists know...the real threat is the cagers (the cars).

Just to clear that up. As a motorcycle rider!
Love you, Kimmie.
