Dreams are Dumb

I was going to tell you about my dream, but I forgot... And you know how if you don't tell someone right away, it falls away into that mushy part of your brain that only your unconscious can reach.

I can tell you this much though.

I was on a cruise ship that was floating down a river, of all things. MT was there, but she was a princess. I believe her name was Princess Angora. She wore white lace, like a Catholic bride, and she couldn't come on deck. Her room was like a shrine, and she never left. I had to keep telling her what was going on, like when pirates attacked us, or we passed dead people floating in the water. I think I might have been able to do magic, but I can't quite remember.

So... I do often have a tendency to re-dream stuff. It doesn't usually happen exactly the same way, but should this dream come up again, I'll make a point to write it down sooner.

I had this awesome dream last night. I'm going to work on writing it out when I get home, and see if I can con MT into illustrating it. She was the star, after all.

Hopefully I'll still remember it when I get home.

New Bike Trail

On Sunday, DS and I decided to bike downtown to Blockbuster. We had some movies we wanted to return, and a coupon for a free one. We decided to take a route that was slightly more scenic. What a good idea that turned out to be! There is a pond and marshy area on the way, and I spotted wildlife!

Wildlife of any kind gets me excited. Well, most kinds ;) These geese were just hanging out, somewhat near the road, easy to see. But then I thought I saw something in the reeds...

I couldn't quite make it out, but my camera could! (Hooray for a 10x optical zoom!) I was tickled to get this picture back with a clear view of a few young geese!

Later, as we were returning from blockbuster, the parents were taking their children for a walk. There were four babies hiding in those reeds! Aren't they cute, with their feathers still kinda downy?

We discovered a new bike trail on the way home. Since we hadn't ridden far that day, we decided to investigate. To our surprise, it went by even more ponds!

Which seems to be where all of the ducks hang out with their babies! This trail was completely awesome, as it felt like we were in the middle of untouched wilderness, even though we were only yards away from my mall. And to make it all even better, it came out almost directly across the street from our apartments!

A Saturday Cookout!

Today, DS decided we would have grilled hamburgers for dinner! I was very excited, as I had been secretly craving this exact thing for at least a week now. (When you're as demanding as I am in a relationship, you cannot just say to your partner, I want grilled hamburgers, and expect it to go over well. I know this is a flaw in my character, but at least I'm aware of it and don't demand "gourmet" food on top of everything else.)

I spent most of the grilling time lying on the grass, taking pictures of wildlife, and DS. This always makes him slightly self-conscious, and thus, he started threatening me with the spatula... Look at those clouds! We had a small chance of storms this evening.

I love to pretend that I'm taking pictures, and then take them once people think I'm done. DS spent most of this photo shoot sitting on the grass next to me while the burgers did their thing, crossing his eyes and sticking out his tongue. Eventually though, he laughed, which brought an honest smile, and my new favorite picture of him.

Mmm!! This is a tasty burger! Doesn't it look good? I love that he cooks for me.

Sure enough, those clouds brought quite the storm. Granted, it only lasted about 5 minutes, but that was enough to make it dark and flood-like outsides. *sigh* I love storms.

Here are some other posts I've been meaning to write, but just haven't had the time:

Our apartments are actually three different complexes run by one company. They're each in different price ranges, and the fancy apartments have a fancy pond. Jerks. Lucky for me it's not fenced off, so even cheapskates like myself can benefit from those scrooges.

Earlier in the week, DS tried his hand at some homemade spaghetti sauce, complete with fresh tomatos and my homegrown herbs! It was soooo scrumptious, and it made like a gazillion gallons. It's a good thing we have a freezer...

And finally, a treat for Spinning Girl. I have no idea what about this glass uplight's finish makes it Estonian, but the fine, or not so fine, people of Kirkland's seem to think it is.

I'm Crafty!

Now, I know when you see these, you're going to freak out and want me to make all of your wedding invitations too. But that's okay, because I'm quite talented, and I run a store...

Calling all Helpers!

Dear Friends,

I say 'friends' because I am in need of some help with a project, and you will probably receive little to no benefit from helping me. And by that I mean, I'll most likely say "thank you friend" and maybe send you a handmade card in the mail or something.

I have some idea for my sleep goblin website. You know, the one where I sell stuff? However, it requires a little more finesse with web design than I have, not to mention a little graphic design and flash knowledge.

If any of you know how to do some of this stuff, and would like to help me, please, by all means, let me know! Oh, I know! I'll make a page on my website listing all of the helpers as contributors to the site! That's at least recognition for your hard work!

My ambitions are always bigger than my talent.. it's a chronic problem.

Thanks for listening,
Sleep Goblin

Look who got a new camera!

I've haven't been posting as many pictures as usual, because frankly, it's rare that my camera takes any worth seeing. But all that has changed!! I present to you, in no particular order, some of the awesome pictures taken today with my new camera!

I've always loved this telephone booth!
You just don't see enough of these anymore.

A dahlia from my balcony. I love plants.

My ring. Hooray!!

There was no sun today, to the sparkle didn't really pick up on the camera. You can be sure that the next I see the rainbows fly, you'll have a picture of it!

It's here!!

It came. FOURTEEN DAYS LATER!!!

It's about freakin' time.

Good news: It fits perfectly. The scratches are gone. Diamond is still as sparkly as ever.

Bad news: My lame wad camera doesn't take pictures less than 3 feet away, so no pictures for you.

Good news: I ordered a new camera this morning, so crisis will soon be averted.

Where do headaches come from?

Day 10. No ring...

I made chocolate milkshakes, and got hired again by DS and Co. Rumor has it that Jeff from accounting thinks I'm hot shit. They say I might even get promoted.*

Saw X-Men 3: The Last Stand. Bobi is right, the next one should be The Lasterest Stand... Mind jumping indeed!

Still holding out on seeing The Da Vinci Code. Too many people are saying it sucked. I'd rather watch sucky movies from blockbuster. At least then I'm saving myself 14 bucks, not counting the cost of popcorn and drinks....

Now, it's to bed. For I have to work again tomorrow, from 9-6:30. And DS says I can only have a hot breakfast if he makes it before leaving at 8. (He's going climbing tomorrow. Ho bag.)

------------------------
* This is a long running joke between DS and I. Most of the time, he just fires me. But on the rare occasion that I really impress him, I get hired. And even more rare than that, like President Bush doing something intelligent rare, I get promoted.

You know what? Nevermind. Trying to explain inside jokes to other people never works out.
